9:50 Breakfast. They had cereal, toast, butter, jam, and juice. It wasn’t too bad since it was included in the hostel stay, but it was disappointing compared to the one I had in Bruge.
10:12 Out. Asked the hostess where to take the bus.
10:20 Bus stop.
10:25 Bus #200. It was completely full. EUR 1.50.
10:27 Bus started. Bus stopped frequently, and more and more people got on.
11:32 Got off at a bus stop named something like “Touchon”. The driver shouted “Antibes!” I wished I took the train instead. It was smelly and hot the whole ride.
11:45 Old town. The area near the bus stop wasn’t impressive, but old town was beautiful. Old houses with so many flowers, narrow alleys and the deep-blue sea. It felt quite different from Nice and Strasbourg.
12:10 Picasso museum. Didn’t go in though.
12:20 Yacht harbour.
12:35 Seated at Chez Marguerite. Ordered “tagliatelle au pesto” and “thé glacé”, which turned out to be Lipton iced tea. It was mango-flavoured, which was great. Pasta was good for the price.
I was full, but I wanted to rest and stay seated for a little longer so ordered fraise & citron sorbet.
13:50 Out. EUR 21.
I wanted to ask for separate bills, but I couldn’t say that in French, and Sybil was away when the waiter came by.
14:55 After walking around the old town, then toward the lighthouse in the south, we walked to the train station gare d’Antibes and bought train tickets. EUR 4.50.
15:05 Onboard. It was much less crowded and much more breathable than the bus. They had air conditioning as well.
15:31 Nice-ville station.
15:40 Bought single ticket from tram stop. EUR 1.50.
16:30 Lounge. After looking into bus schedule and map for a while, we took a nap.
17:30 Woke up and did more research and explored Facebook messaging app.
17:45 Room. Showered and washed my clothes.
18:30 Wrote journal and ate chocolates. Sybil fell asleep.
21:30 Sybil woke up, and we decided to go for desserts and headed out. A lot of people (tourists) were walking around Place Massena even though it was getting pretty late.
21:40 Seated at Pinocchio. They had a huge menu, so I had a hard time deciding. I ended up ordering Affogato Pinacolada. It was pretty strong.
23:00 Out. EUR 9.90. I realized I was bitten by mosquitos in three places.
23:05 Dropped by a tram stop on the way back to buy day passes for the next two days and bus ticket to the airport. EUR 11.
23:10 Hostel. Browsed internet in the lounge.
23:40 Room. I realized that my head didn’t touch the ceiling even when I stood up on the bunk bed.
